Netflix To Limit Streaming Quality. No worry, porn is safe!
Netflix has been asked to lower their quality of streaming by European Union.
The effects of coronavirus across the world are shockingly apparent. This pneumonia-like virus has interrupted the lives of human beings across the globe. Economies are stagnating, the stock market is falling lower every day, and the daily life of major cities like Venice, San Francisco, Paris, New York, and Los Angeles have come to a halt. Retreating into our homes and not leaving except for vital errands like groceries is the only way we can fight against it. Social distancing and self-quarantining are now part of daily life for some people. While stuck in their homes and apartments, everyone decided to log on to the internet. They are playing video games, watching videos, chatting with their loved ones, and, most of all, streaming tv shows and movies like never before.
But the internet cannot handle so many people using its bandwidth all at once. Plus, internet infrastructure is not the same everywhere, so places who rely on satellite or shoddy telecom internet are struggling. Now the coronavirus has even begun to affect the internet.
The EU's request
The European Union's Internal Market and Services Commissioner, Thierry Breton, asked Netflix, the US-based streaming giant, on March 18th to lower the quality of their streaming services from HD to standard to protect the internet and reduce strain. Since millions of people from all over the world cannot leave their homes and apartments, streaming from Netflix, as well as Hulu, Amazon, and YouTube, has increased. These and many other websites are a go-to form of entertainment, especially since many people have jobs where they can't work from home. Those who can work at home are teleconferencing and using skype and zoom to conduct meetings online. There has never before been so many people working online from their homes. The sudden influx of people streaming at one time has strained the infrastructure of the internet. Even before COVID-19 appeared, streaming services made up 75% of all internet usage in the world. So the recent increase in streaming, especially in HD and 4k, is not something that should be ignored. On top of that 75% usage around the world, Internet usage since the coronavirus outbreak began in Europe increased by 50%.
The standard definition is 480p and is the same quality as a non-blu ray DVD. HD, or high definition, is 720p and is also known as standard HD. 4k is the best video definition currently available in the world, and it was designed for 5G. The difference in video quality between these three definitions is noticeable. Older movies may not look strange, but films made in the last five years, especially Star Wars, Marvel movies, or big blockbusters will not look as crisp and detailed.
Netflix's response to the EU's request.
Europa demands ... and Netflix agreed on the 20th to reduce their streaming quality for 30 days. It will do so by either reducing bit rates but not the resolution, or by decreasing both bit rates and resolution. Netflix still has not announced exactly how it will lessen its consumption of the European internet bandwidth. The company said that its new measures could reduce its use of the internet by 25%.
Netflix already has a protocol in place where if a user's bandwidth is low, the video quality will drop to standard automatically. But now standard quality will apply to everyone, regardless of a user's bandwidth or internet connection. Netflix has not announced either if the standard will be the only definition option or if users can switch higher options manually if their viewing experience is muddled.
But even before the request was made, some of Netflix's users contacted them via phone and twitter to report that their streaming quality is dropping. The connection to the site is also cutting and becoming unreliable. Hopefully, though the video quality will be reduced, the connection and accessibility will improve.
Other streaming services response
Besides Netflix, many other streaming services shall lower their streaming quality. YouTube, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Disney+, Appletv, Facebook video, and other smaller companies are juggling their service's internet consumption.
Are any other countries calling for a reduction in video standards?
These bandwidth-reducing measures will only be applied to the EU. No changes are streaming in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Asia, or South America have been announced. But when more people and more in these areas start to quarantine themselves, we should expect a spike in streaming traffic. Plus, digital communication around the world is extensive and robust. The world and the EU are not in danger of the internet reaching full capacity or "breaking."
Our response to low-quality streaming
We at Eporner believe in HD porn, and we will not be lowering the quality of our streams. These are challenging times for us all, now and in the next few months. We understand that porn is an essential activity of relaxation for many people around the world. And pornography and masturbation are one way to relieve anxiety and stress. So, we at Eporner decided today that we will not lower the quality of our streaming videos. Because of these reasons and many more, Eporner will NOT be limiting our streaming quality. We vow that everybody will be able to enjoy high-quality porn in 4K during this time of social distancing and self-isolation at home due to coronavirus.
Masturbation boosts your immune system, helping you fight off infection and illness
Entertainment of all kinds must be viewed in HD and 4K to enjoy it and have the best possible experience. Visible pixilation, while you're trying to get off, will reduce the enjoyment of the experience. If you are noticing your internet speed reducing, then that is the fault of your ISP. If you feel like you should preserve data speeds for the rest of your household, then we invite you to use our downloading options and save your favorite videos for later to watch offline. Eporner has always been and will forever be dedicated to our consumers and their viewing experience.
Please be safe during these stressful times, and make sure to stay away from groups, wash your hands often, and disinfect anything you touch.
Wish you best!
